Commercial Motion Capture Session

Our students running a motion capture session for Nick Galaxy, one of our industry partners.

Nick approached us with some animation requirements he had for a game prototype. We built it into a piece of coursework for our students and got them to run the session. Nick hired professional dancer, Ruby, and we used one of our XSens motion capture suits.  Our students will now be doing the clean-up on the motion capture data and the best ones will be incorporated into the prototype in two weeks time.

What a great opportunity for a CGI student to add to their CV. Wherever possible we try to integrate live industry projects into our coursework – it’s a win-win situation. If you have a live project that you feel would benefit from some enthusiastic student input, in motion capture, 3D scanning or any other aspect of 3D CGI, please get in touch.
